The town of Đurđevac is located in northeastern Croatia, and administratively it belongs to the Koprivnica-Križevac County. Đurđevac is the regional center of this part, where the state administration, high schools, medical institutions, shops, over a hundred companies, galleries, and sports fields are located. It is the center of the Roman Catholic Đurđevac deanery.
The town of Đurđevac itself is located in the Podravina plain between two natural-geographic entities, between the northern slopes of Bilogora and the Drava River. In terms of traffic and geography, Đurđevac is located next to the Podravska highway, which connects Varaždin and Osijek and represents the junction of the highway towards Bjelovar and Zagreb. The railway connecting Osijek, Koprivnica and Zagreb also passes through Đurđevac along the Drava river valley. Today, Đurđevac is an hour and a half by car and a little more than two hours by train from Zagreb, and less than half an hour from the regional centers of Koprivnica, Bjelovar and Virovitica, while it takes half an hour to reach the border crossing with Hungary Gola.
